Introduction to indigenous science
MODULE 1
HYBRID STUDY - in person or virtual / live or self-paced
In every culture lies the wisdom of folk practices, including traditional medicine. Practiced for millennia, indigenous forms of sciences had developed locally, with possible degrees of influences from other cultures. Parallel principles and concepts prevail, based on the understanding of the human body and its relation to natural forces of nature. This module will cover medical anthropology, humoral pathology, and concepts of hot-cold / wet-dry complexions.
A unique feature of our school is the integration of the combat and healing arts. Considered as two sides of a coin, the philosophy is to maintain balance between the principles of eradication through the combat arts and creation through the healing arts. These arts are reflected in the practices of Didya Mudgara Warrior Club Calisthenics and Didya ‘Kabarwanan (Northern Luzon escrima).
